I’m Carolina Sakamoto Coraini, a passionate, devoted artist who finds inspiration in the everyday beauty of life and is absolutely captivated by the art of storytelling.
I am an International Student at the University of Tampa, coursing Animation as my Major, and Advertising, New Media and Digital Media as my Minors.
Coming from Brazil, I have an excellent quality of being fluent in another language and also having had been influenced by more than one culture. It definitely brought up skills of adaptability, responsibility, discipline, and global fluency to have come from a different country, and has made me really appreciative of this wonderful opportunity of being here in Tampa, Florida, studying what I am mesmerized of.
My academic journey at the University of Tampa has led me to improve in most areas of the arts, design, and advertising possible.
Aside from academics, as the dedicated and curious individual that I am, I have immersed myself in multiple extra curricular activities.
One of my favorite achievements so far, was to have been selected amongst various applicant to be a University of Tampa Diplomat. This refers to serving as an extension of the University of Tampa President’s office and ambassadors for the university. Being a part of this organization means being a remarkable student leader and noticeable server of the student community.
To reinsure my creative side, and provide a place for other art-driven individuals to thrive, I have founded a new club at the University of Tampa for inspired people to have a reference in case they need assistance with their own project endeavors, look to find people to collaborate with, or want to learn it from peers who can be accessible and share a similar life perspective as them. It is called the CAFÉ Club, short for a Collaborative for Animation, Film and Entertainment. I am currently President of this organization of which I cherish dearly.
I am also glad to have been selected to be a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. A National wide Honor Society that values academic excellence and community serving. I am so thankful to have been chosen to attend the Phi Eta Sigma National Convention, where I met people from across the country, shared inputs of how the organization works in different campuses, and overall had a wonderful time with individuals who value dedication and effort towards engagement.
I work for the University of Tampa as a Resident Assistant, which means I constantly practice teamwork, intelligent communication, planning, and customer service skills on my everyday task of serving the living community at the university as a resource they can go to on the residence halls, and assisting the student resident’s journey. I am so please to be considered a role model, passing on a good example of student excellence, specially when encouraging students to have a safe, respectful and fun experience at UTampa, and also overseeing them to ensure they are aware of the University’s policies and procedures.
Other achievements however as important were being placed on the Dean’s List of Honors, relevant to my academic journey. And for a more creative take, I have participated at the Walt Disney World Leadership Spring Break Trip and an attendee, and now am one of the student leaders selected to go to the 2026 trip as a facilitator.
Overall my time at the university has been great to develop my character in my transition to adulthood.
I feel as though immensely thankful for being a part of the University of Tampa, and sharing moments that will stick with me as great memories for the rest of my life, and wonder what the next step is, always optimistic and devoted to what comes next.
